How to increase virtual RAM

An amount of Memory (RAM) is needed for execution of Programs. The more RAM your computer has, the faster your programs will generally run. If a Computer lacks the memory needed, then Windows uses Virtual memory to compensate. So,

" A Virtual RAM is nothing but some storage space which can be used for execution of a Process or a Task. "

Virtual memory combines your computer’s RAM with temporary space on your hard disk. When RAM runs low, virtual memory moves data from RAM to a space called a 'paging file' on hard disk. Moving data to and from the paging file frees up the RAM to complete its work.

Now moving on to the Steps :

1. Right click My computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings

2. Being On the Advanced Tab Click on Performance Pane's settings.

3. Another Window appears containing 3 tabs. Click on Advanced Tab > Change

.

4. Uncheck "Automatically manage paging files" and then select "Custom size" option to enter your own values for paging files.  Insert the value 2000 in Initial Size (Mb) and 5000-6000 in Maximum Size. Finally Click on SET.

Note: You can increase/decrease the size of the paging file depending on how your usage of Applications are.
